Sugar on Snow is a New England tradition signaling the arrival of the maple season. Hot maple syrup is poured on snow (crushed ice is a reasonable facsimile) producing a sweet treat usually enjoyed with a pickle and a donut.
Celebrate the flavor of the season and experience maple tree tapping first hand in Chestnut Ridge this Saturday, February 24th, at the Nature Place Day Camp’s annual Maple Sugaring event. Attendees will receive a Hungry Hollow Co-op coupon (provided at the camp) for 20% off on all maple syrup, Woodstock dill pickles and donuts.
