At the Hungry Hollow Co-op we love brands that share our mission for quality and integrity. That’s why we’re happy to feature Alden’s Organic ice creams, as we know that what they leave out of their ice cream is just as important as they they put into it.

That’s why Alden’s makes classic American flavors with clean ingredients you can feel great about. They’ve been doing this at their own ice creamery in Eugene, Oregon for fifteen years.

All Alden’s ice cream products are USDA Certified Organic. This means that their ice cream is made using ingredients that at no time come into contact with synthetic pesticides or artificial fertilizers, genetically modified organisms (GMOs), artificial growth hormones (rBGH/rBST), or anything that was processed using sewage sludge or ionizing radiation.

To achieve the USDA Organic certification, third party certifying agents use a variety of tools to verify that organic farmers and processors aren’t using prohibited substances. These tools include annual on-site inspections and periodic residue testing to ensure compliance. Finally, all USDA certified organic products are regulated by the United States Department of Agriculture’s National Organic Program.
